How to create Saved Views in Usermaven

Saved Views in Usermaven allow you to customize and preserve specific data configurations, streamlining your analytics process and ensuring reporting consistency. This guide will walk you through the process of creating and managing Saved Views.

What are Saved Views?

Saved Views are preset configurations of your Usermaven Web Analytics dashboard that allow you to quickly access customized data views, focus on specific metrics, and ensure consistency in reporting across your team.

How to create a Saved View in Usermaven?

  1. On your Usermaven Web Analytics dashboard, select the metrics and data points you want to focus on. Apply as many filters as needed (e.g., specific conversion goals, locations)
  2. These filters will appear at the top of your dashboard. Click on the 'Filters' button near the top.
  3. Click on the 'Save' icon.
  4. In the 'Save View' popup that appears, enter a name for your view (e.g., Plan Upgraded users from the US). You will then see several options:
    • Save with the selected domain: If selected, the view will only be saved for the selected domain.
    • Save with the selected time period: If selected, the saved view will be saved with the time period set on the web analytics dashboard. You can always change this as per your need.
    • Available on public (shared) dashboard: If enabled, this saved view will also be visible on your the shared dashboard.
  5. After configuring your options, click the 'Save' button

Accessing and managing Saved Views

Once you've created a Saved View, it will be readily accessible from the 'Saved Views' dropdown menu on your dashboard. To use a specific view, simply select it from this dropdown, and your dashboard will instantly update to reflect the chosen configuration. This allows you to quickly switch between different analyses without reconfiguring your dashboard each time.

To further manage your view, you can make use of the 'Edit' or 'Delete' buttons located next to each view in the dropdown menu. The edit function enables you to modify existing views as your analysis needs to evolve. At the same time, the delete option helps you keep your analytics workspace organized by removing outdated or unnecessary views.

Best practices for using Saved Views

  1. Create views for recurring analyses: Set up Saved Views for reports you check regularly.
  2. Use descriptive names: Choose clear names for your Saved Views to easily identify their purpose.
  3. Leverage domain-specific views: For multi-domain platforms, create separate views for each domain.
  4. Share relevant views: Use the 'Available on public dashboard' option to share important views with your team.
  5. Regular maintenance: Periodically review and update your Saved Views to ensure they remain relevant.

Using the Saved Views feature, streamline your analytics process and ensure quick access to the most relevant data for your business needs. This is particularly useful for SaaS companies tracking specific conversion goals, e-commerce sites monitoring campaign performance, or any web-based business looking to efficiently manage their analytics data.
